Addenbrooke’s Hospital

Overview:

Three new operating theatres are being constructed at Addenbrooke’s Hospital to help cut waiting lists for routine orthopaedic operations – such as knee and hip replacements – and create a new surgical centre of excellence. Once completed, the site will become the Cambridge Movement Surgical Hub and increase orthopaedic capacity at CUH by 20%, carrying out around 2,700 procedures a year.

Stourflex were contacted by MTX for our expertise in Rooftop Supports. From what started as a combination of I Beams and HD frames, became and increased quantity of I Beams due to the loads of the AHU’s. It was during one of the conversations with the customer that they realised we can offer an installation service which MTX took us up on.

During the early part of manufacture the Consultant raised a concern about the roof being manufactured from Firestone. To ease their concerns we offered a Foot Fleece. These are typically used for an in between for Asphalt and PVC roof membrane surfaces. This helps prevent Polymer migration between the plastic and rubber products.
